Ms. Thompson is a certified K-6 Elementary Education Teacher, fingerprinted with both the Diocese of Orlando and with OCPS. She has a special love for teaching reading, writing, and study skills. She taught for 8 years at St. John Vianney School in both 1st grade and 5th/6th grades.
Louise has a rich corporate background in Human Resources, working for American Express, Georgia-Pacific, DBM, and Priority Management. She has done extensive training and consulting in career coaching and time management.
Ms. Thompson has a passion for preparing students for college, the job market, living independently, and helping others succeed in realizing their goals.
Louise is married to Mark, her husband of 40 years, and has two grown sons. Louise loves to travel, read, cook, swim, walk, bike, drum, play pickleball, practice yoga and paint. She is currently the Volunteer Coordinator for Crealde School of Art. She is an active volunteer at IDignity, a non-profit that assists clients in obtaining all their various forms of legal identification, which opens up the doors to education, employment, housing, a bank account, proper healthcare, and more. In addition, she is an active member of the League of Women Voters, and the co-chair of Floridians for National Popular Vote, Orange County. She volunteers with Family Promise, a non-profit which helps homeless families and partners with people who want to break the cycle of generational poverty. She recently began volunteering with the Orlando Shakes and the Orlando Philharmonic. She has been a caregiver, trustee, and power of attorney for countless family members.
